Prenatal Care with a midwife is different than care with traditional medical care. Wantina offers Family based care in the midwifery office (or your home for an additional fee).

Partners, children, doulas, and other family members are always welcome.  Toys and books are available in office. Wifi is available if needed for screen distraction with headphones. 

Each visit is about an hour long. Expect  one-on-one with Wantina and her midwifery students. She talks about nutrition in pregnancy and what is going on in your pregnant life. Wantina does a head to toe assessment every visit with lots of questions for you and from you.

​ You will still have access to standard of care and traditional prenatal labwork and and traditional 20 week ultrasound, if you desire. Pinard horn, Fetascope and Doppler are both options for listening to your growing baby. You should expect the same types of care available through any traditional care giver, just in a more personal style.

Informed Consent and Shared Decision Making is key to successful Midwifery Services.  Prenatal care is what a client does in their own home to take care of themselves. Visits with the midwife are checking to ensure that everything at home is working well. Midwives will  also make suggestions or referrals to make the pregnancy go smoother,  safety and comfort.
