Senior Midwifery Students
Every month, we have a new senior student assigned to the practice by one of the midwifery schools. They get to practice being a midwife under the watchful eye of Wantina. This means they will run office visits, they will do all vitals, they will palpate your baby and measure for growth. They can do cervical checks as long as Wantina comes behind them to double check their assessment. Clients can also say that only Wantina does cervical checks. Supervised students are involved with the birth and will be checking vitals and participating in helping catch babies under Wantina's supervision. They will then provide supervised care for the postpartum of mother and baby through 6 weeks postpartum.
Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta encapsulation is provided at a deeply discounted price to Mama’s Midwife Clients. Please discuss this with the midwives if this is an optional Add on that you are interested in. All placentas are processed in a sterile environment at our Florence office and returned promptly to the client after encapsulation. Prints, cord mementos, and other options are also available. |
